Why Midsomer Norton Primary School?

Midsomer Norton Primary has the feel of a village school but is situated in the heart of the town.

At our school your child will thrive. Our priority is your child’s mental health and wellbeing.  We encourage our children to be knowledgeable, well-informed, resilient individuals who are empowered to contribute to society.

We are proud that our school is large enough to offer a wide range of activities but small enough that we hear each child's voice and understand their needs within education and life skills.

Midsomer Norton Primary School offers a broad curriculum from key subjects to forest school, specialised PE programmes and drama lessons.  We also provide a variety of afterschool and lunch clubs including football, dance, code breaking, gardening, netball and many more.

Our staff have a wealth of knowledge and fully embrace every child’s individuality. We are proud to offer an open door policy and encourage families to join our school community.

We understand that many families have a busy home/work life balance and the work day doesn’t always fit in with school hours. We are pleased to be able to offer our families the security of breakfast club from 7am and afterschool club until 6pm each day.

We understand that choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions parents and carers will make. We invite you to find out more about us by:

  • Contacting the school office to ask any questions you may have and to arrange a tour.
  • Having a telephone or online conversation with our Head of School Ms Sarah Biss
  • Taking a look at our Facebook & Instagram feeds to get a feel for everyday life in the school.

Reception Applications

Midsomer Norton Primary school is part of Bath & North East Somerset’s Coordinated Admissions scheme for parents/carers applying for a child starting school in Reception in September. All applications for admissions must be submitted to the Local Authority (LA) by the published closing date. The LA will forward all applications to the school and the Governing Body will rank all applications against the admissions criteria. The list will then be returned to the LA under the coordinated admissions scheme and they will make a single offer of a place on the published date.

'In - Year' Applications

Applications for 'In-Year' admissions (i.e. other than children due to start Reception in September) are made directly to the school. Please contact the school to arrange a school visit office@midsomernortonprimary.co.uk

Midsomer Norton Primary School is an Academy and part of the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership, and as such the Governing Body is the admissions authority. Our governing body applies the regulations on admissions fairly and equally to all those who wish to attend the school.
