Lunches/Free School Meals

Our meals are provided by Bath & North East Somerset Council Catering Services and are freshly cooked every day at Longvernal School.

Catering Services has been awarded the Food For Life Bronze Award which recognises their committment to meeting government nutritional standards for school meals ensuring that all meals are healthy and offer a balanced diet for the children. Please click here for a copy of the menu (Term 6).

Research has shown that children who eat a healthy balanced diet tend to perform better at school and that only 1% of packed lunches comply with the nutritional standards for school lunches.

Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM)

From September 2014 ALL children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a Free School Meal everyday regardless of family income or circumstances.

Children in Years 3-6 and Nursery will need to continue to pay £2.20 per day.
