Personal Development Overview

Our personal development overview maps out opportunities and experiences that enhance our curriculum and enables children to develop their cultural capital, spiritual awareness, social skills, citizenship and aspirations. It is shaped by our curriculum drivers of culture and community and our core aims and beliefs in community, confidence and independence, equal opportunities and ambition. It is a fluid plan that we can add to depending on current events and the needs of our pupils and school community.

British Values

British values are identified as:

  • democracy
  • the rule of law
  • individual liberty
  • mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs, and for those without faith.

The children's understanding of these values is developed and deepened through the curriculum and the wider opportunities and experiences described in the personal development overview.

We regularly survey our families to help us evaluate our strengths and identify areas for development. Our latest survey shows that our children feel safe, behaviour is well managed and that respect and understanding of others are strengths of the school.
