Computing

Computing is taught as a discrete subject with links made to other subjects where appropriate.

Our curriculum for Computing ensures that Computing knowledge and skills are built upon progressively as children move through the school. The curriculum is based on the TeachComputing curriculum designed by the National Centre for Computing Education (https://teachcomputing.org/curriculum

There is a strong focus on programming and developing chidlren's understanding of key concepts and how computers are used in the modern world.

E-safety concepts are woven throughout each topic informed by the Education for a Connect World 2020 document published by the UK Council for Internet Safety.

Our Computing progression which informs our planning can be found here.

In Computing, as in all other subjects, our Key Stage 1 & 2 classes follow a two year cycle of topics: Click here for the Key Stage 1 & 2 overview.

Please visit our main curriculum page to see how these topics fit into our two year overview for each phase.
