Why Midsomer Norton Primary School?
Midsomer Norton Primary has the feel of a village school but is situated in the heart of the town.
At our school your child will thrive. Our priority is your child’s mental health and wellbeing. We encourage our children to be knowledgeable, well-informed, resilient individuals who are empowered to contribute to society.
We are proud that our school is large enough to offer a wide range of activities but small enough that we hear each child's voice and understand their needs within education and life skills.
Midsomer Norton Primary School offers a broad curriculum from key subjects to outdoor learning, specialised PE programmes and drama lessons. We also provide a variety of afterschool clubs including Art, dance, choir, gardening, martial arts, lego and many more.
Our staff have a wealth of knowledge and fully embrace every child’s individuality. We are proud to offer an open door policy and encourage families to join our school community.
We understand that many families have a busy home/work life balance and the work day doesn’t always fit in with school hours. We are pleased to be able to offer our families the security of breakfast club from 7am and afterschool club until 6pm each day.
We understand that choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions parents and carers will make. We invite you to find out more about us by:
Reception Applications September 2026
If your child was born between 1st September 2021 and 31st August 2022 he/she is able to start school in September 2026. Midsomer Norton Primary school is part of Bath & North East Somerset’s Coordinated Admissions scheme for parents/carers applying for a child starting school in Reception in September. Applications must be made to the Local Authority in which you live even if you are wanting to be considered for a place at a school situated within a different Local Authority area. All applications for admissions must be submitted to the Local Authority (LA) by the published closing date. The LA will forward all applications to the school and the Governing Body will rank all applications against the admissions criteria. The list will then be returned to the LA under the coordinated admissions scheme and they will make a single offer of a place on the published date.
More information and the link to make an application can be found on the B&NES School Admissions page.
